Bad Science

I'm reading 'Bad Science' by Been Goldacre, and it's really good. He takes to task various aspects of modern medicine, as well as certain popular pseudoscientific practice, and smashes them using an evidence-based approach that is backed with simple statistics.

I read 'Bad Pharma' before this, and it was really hard going, with far less humour, and much more stats. Having read that God make it easier to read 'Bad Science' though.

He spoke at Healthcare Commission once but I was out of the country. I used to like his segments on Watchdog and his column in the Guardian. Lots of action in the bad science department going on in Canada at the moment:
