Kingsman: The Secret Service
This adaptation of Mark Millar/Dave Gibbons spy spoof comic stayed true to spirit of the comic without being too much of a slavish fanboy adaptation. Bit over-the-top with the 'extreme' humour i.e. anal sex jokes etc. I liked that it was filmed on the same North London housing estate as ITV's gritty adaptation of A Christmas Carol that ITV with Ross Kemp as Scrooge. The film's cartoonish depiction of white working-class people would be deemed offensive if it was any other group of people. It has many recognisable faces from other brit crim/hoolie films....

Why do film-makers still use inner city concrete estates as there default gritty, urban setting? The majority of poor people live in houses like this:

I think Dead Man's Shoes made good use of bleak low rise modern housing - it's set in Nottingham or Derby or somewhere like that
